Cranking Out the Videos!

I just got back from Wisconsin where I worked with George Vondriska shooing a bunch of videos for Woodworkers Guild of America. If you don’t know about them, they are a membership-based woodworking website with tons of great content; video, print, plans … live streams, you name it. And George is editor driving that content.

George and I met decades ago while working for different woodworking magazines and bonded over woodworking and an excentric sense of humor. He is a guitar player, as am I, and that was another point of shared interest.

After my retirement from Woodworker’s Journal, George called and asked if I would be interested in some video work with him and I said yes right away. His request was that I focus on hand tools, specifically hand planes, and on finishing tips.

We got cooking last Wednesday and cranked out about 14 videos that will be seen at WGOA over the next few months. (I am not completely sure about the schedule … above my pay grade.)

As the videos go live, I will let you know – some will be free and others behind a pay-wall. (Hey, we all gotta pay the bills!) All in all it was a wonderful time for me, George was a gracious host with tremendous hospitality.

Can’t wait to the edited videos.
